Caroline Jones

I am an experienced solicitor and have worked for Chubb Bulleid for longer than I care to think. I am a director of the firm.

My workload currently covers two distinct areas of private client work –Wills and Residential Conveyancing. My Residential Conveyancing work is varied, dealing with properties of all types from small leasehold flats to large listed buildings and new build properties together with ancillary matters such as Help To Buy Equity Loans and rights of way issues. My experience enables me to deal calmly with the pressures and tensions which often seem to be an inevitable part of the process for clients from helping first time buyers to understand the transaction to dealing with other professionals in a friendly efficient and speedy manner.

Everyone should make a Will but all too often it is pushed to the back of the mind. My clients are usually genuinely surprised at how simple and painless a process it actually turns out to be. I prepare Wills for the young and old dealing with issues such as guardianship for small children and Inheritance Tax. Advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney is also an important part of my work.

I am married with 4 adult children who still manage to take up much of my time! My husband and I have a livestock farm on the Mendips so there goes the remainder of my spare time – no time left for clubs and associations.

I love sport of all types and have been to venues such as Wimbledon and Silverstone but I am afraid I am an avid watcher and listener rather than a doer – my hand ball co-ordination leaves a lot to be desired!

My Favourites.

Beach or Countryside – I adore living in rural Somerset with it’s wonderful countryside but there is something special about the sea so I would love to move the whole county closer to the south coast.
Favourite season – It has to be the Summer – Pimms and barbeques
Cats or dogs – Definitely dogs. We have a history of very soft Labradors and a litter of pups as I write.
Pub or restaurant – Both – there is nothing better than having a meal cooked for you and socialising with friends.
Sherlock or Midsomer Murders – Sherlock really – Benedict Cumerbatch is amazing and the writing is so clever. However Midsomer Murders is perfect Sunday evening bubblegum/brain dead viewing – great for relaxing.
