I am a Trainee Legal Executive with Chubb Bulleid based in their Somerton office in the Commercial Department.
As a trainee within the Commercial Department, I work alongside Tom Bowes, a highly experienced Commercial Solicitor and Director. After graduating from the University of the West of England in late 2012 with a degree in Law, I have worked in various legal roles before joining Chubb Bulleid in early 2018.
On daily basis I deal with the buying, selling and letting of commercial property, the assignment of commercial leases and renewals, as well as the transfer of pension property to name but a few.
I am an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and am due to qualify as a Graduate Legal Executive in 2019 and a CILEX Lawyer by 2021. It is my intention to complete further studies to become a qualified solicitor thereafter.
Originally from London, I still like to a balance country and city life and enjoy the hustle and bustle of what our local cities have to offer, as much as the vast open countryside. In my free time I am often out enjoying long walks with my dog, keeping fit, cooking for friends and love travelling to new and exciting places.
Beach or countryside – Beach. I have the nickname in the family as the water baby. From a very young age it has proved often impossible to keep my out of the sea. I have been diving since a young age and have been lucky enough to have dived in some outstandingly beautiful places. I have swam with wild manatees, whale sharks, free dived with a wild pod of dolphins in the Indian Ocean and helped with various clear ups on beaches, both above and under the water around the world.
Favourite cuisine – Thai. I was lucky enough to travel around Thailand for a number of weeks and try some very delicious local cuisine. Sadly, it is hard to find authentic thai food in this country, but I did attend a cooking class whilst away so enjoy cooking some of my favourite dishes from scratch.
Sunset or Sunrise – Couldn’t possibly pick, love both. Sunrise at the top of Mount Batur in Bali a few years ago was unbelievable – definitely made up for the freezing trek in the early hours of the morning. However, one of the most breath taking sunsets was from the top of Glastonbury Tor at the beginning of this summer, it was really quite magical.
Top of bucket list – Whale watching or seeing orangutans in Boreno. To be honest most of my bucket list involves animals. My favourite land animal being an Orangutan.
Favourite drink – Alcoholic, has to be a Gin and Tonic. Whitley Neil, Raspberry gin with elderflower tonic. Or if in the office a large cup of PG tips; there is never not a good time for a cup of tea.
