Tom Bowes

I am an experienced commercial property solicitor specialising in development work. I am a Director of Chubb Bulleid and head up our Commercial Team.

On a day to day basis I deal with conditional contracts, options, development agreements, promotion agreements, infrastructure agreements as well as buying, selling and letting of commercial property.

Recent work highlights include the acquisition, development and letting of a new retail and leisure scheme in Devon.

Prior to joining Chubbs in February 2017 I worked as a commercial property lawyer at regional firm Foot Anstey LLP for 3 years and prior to that I spent 7 years as a commercial property lawyer at international law firm DLA Piper.

Originally from Yorkshire, we settled in the South West 5 years ago. I am married with two children and live in beautiful South Somerset. When not teaching the children to ride their bikes/scooters, read, swim, play cricket etc., etc., I enjoy walking the dogs (two black labs), cycling and desperately trying to learn to sail – here

My Favourites.

Favourite Book – Thomas Hardy, The Mayor of Casterbridge. This has all the classic components of a Wessex novel but a valuable lesson in sobriety thrown in for good measure! – see below

Favourite drink – Somerset Cider Brandy. This really is the taste of Somerset – – also good enough for Harry and Meghan’s wedding

Best Album – I might have said “Blood on the Tracks” by Bob Dylan but Bruce has picked it so “Laughing Stock” by Talk Talk. Not my usual style but it has entranced and captivated me from the first listen.
