Tom Bowes

I am an experienced commercial property solicitor specialising in development work. I am a Partner and head up our Commercial Team.

On a day to day basis I deal with conditional contracts, options, development agreements, promotion agreements, infrastructure agreements as well as buying, selling and letting of commercial property.

Prior to joining Chubbs in February 2017 I worked as a commercial property lawyer at regional firm Foot Anstey LLP for 3 years and prior to that I spent 7 years as a commercial property lawyer at international law firm DLA Piper.

Originally from Yorkshire, we settled in the South West 10 years ago. I am married with two children and live in beautiful South Somerset. I spend most of my spare time watching the children play a variety of sports and when not I enjoy walking our black Labrador and playing the guitar

My Favourites.

Favourite Book – Thomas Hardy, The Mayor of Casterbridge. This has all the classic components of a Wessex novel but a valuable lesson in sobriety thrown in for good measure! – see below

Favourite drink – In the sun – campari spritz, any other time – Old fashioned.

Best Album – I might have said “Blood on the Tracks” by Bob Dylan but probably “Laughing Stock” by Talk Talk. Not my usual style but it has entranced and captivated me from the first listen.
