Salary: circa £45,000

Due to the expansion of the team, we are looking to appoint a talented private client Wills, Tax and Trusts Lawyer, ideally with experience of 3 years’ or more within our Somerton Office, with on-site parking.

Experienced legal staff are integral to the success of our business and we are not looking for someone who is simply a great private client lawyer,  but an individual who can work on their own initiative and take responsibility for working well with our clients by getting things done, within a friendly, hardworking and supportive team.

The role:

To ensure the effective and efficient conduct of cases on behalf of clients in accordance with the overall policies and objectives of the firm.
Whilst running own varied caseload and seeking opportunities to grow the department

Partners

Key responsibilities:

  • Drafting wills including tax planning and trusts.
  • Powers of attorney.
  • Knowledge of inheritance tax and capital gains tax and planning.
  • Knowledge of income tax helpful but not essential.
  • Managing a busy caseload which will involve a wide range of private client matters, acting on behalf of a range of high net worth clients.
  • Ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Attending clients in their own environment as required.
  • Recognise the importance of providing a profitable contribution to the department through fee earning work.
  • Promote a compassionate and sensitive disposition and client experience when dealing with the elderly or incapacitated.
  • Experience of property legal work helpful but not essential.

Duties all staff are required to perform:

  • Observe health and safety procedures and work safely at all times.
  • Adhere to all internal methods, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Be responsible for your own continuing self-development, undertaking training as appropriate to the work environment and developments in your role, including training on software or systems used at Chubb Bulleid if not already familiar with them
  • Conduct yourself with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy as a representative of Chubb Bulleid, in line with policies and procedures.
  • Attend training to fulfil SRA requirements and maintain a record of all training undertaken.
  • Complete and maintain as necessary any professional documentation or records as may be required by the SRA or any other professional body.
  • Ability to be flexible and to apply common sense to a work area of client needs and requirements.
