Elizabeth Blaquiere
TRAINEE SOLICITOR

I am a Trainee Solicitor, currently in my first seat, Residential Conveyancing. I graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in English Literature, and after I graduated I decided to do a conversion course to law. I am particularly interested in Property Law, but I am looking forward to experiencing a number of areas of law before choosing a specialism.

I am local to the area, having lived near Wells since I was a child. I have black Labrador called Boots, who is nearly 4 years old. I enjoy gardening and looking after my bonsai trees.

Favourite drink – coffee. The best cappuccino is in Marchesi in Milan, or a dark roast espresso. Occasionally, I also enjoy prosecco.

Favourite film – The Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended edition, naturally).

Favourite book – Tess of the D’Urbervilles, because of Hardy’s remarkably sympathetic portrayal of his heroine; a novel far ahead of its time. I also enjoy Hardy’s depictions of the West Country; likewise in ‘The Return of the Native’, although I find the characters in the latter are rather more two-dimensional.

Favourite season – Autumn, “season of mists and mellow fruitfulness”.

Favourite holiday destination – Venice. I first visited Venice on my honeymoon and always want to go back.
